Speak Up K-12 District Cybersecurity Awareness and Preparation Survey

Dear K-12 District Leader:
Welcome to the 3rd annual Project Tomorrow research survey on the state of cybersecurity in K-12 districts.  Thank you for your contributions to this important national research. This research is being undertaken by Project Tomorrow, a national education nonprofit organization, as part of our annual Speak Up Research Project. Project Tomorrow has been reporting on the state of cybersecurity in K-12 districts since 2017.  Many of our national reports and infographics are available at www.tomorrow.org.  Our research findings are regularly used by federal, state and local policymakers to inform education policies and funding.

This year’s survey consists of primarily multiple-choice questions. There are a few open-ended questions for your narrative response. Please know that your responses are 100% confidential.  I hope that you will be as candid as comfortable in your responses.  As we do with all of our Speak Up reporting, we will only share nationally aggregated data from this study in this year’s annual report.  This survey should  take you less than 14 minutes to complete.

Your input as a district leader on this survey is critical to informing new policies, programs and funding to support cybersecurity in K-12 districts. At the end of the survey you have the option to provide us with your email address.  We will be randomly selecting 20 K-12 District Leaders who complete this survey with a $50 gift card.  Additionally, we can share with you the aggregated national data results so that you can see how your responses compare to your colleagues nationwide.  These are the only reasons we are asking you for your email address.  If you are not interested in either of these options, please just skip that question.

Thank you again for your participation in this national research effort. If you have any questions about this survey or our research please contact us at research@tomorrow.org.
